Geologists study the Earth, her age, the materials she is made of, the way she has changed over centuries and eons and the way she will change in centuries and eons to come. Literature talks about life, about people, about the way we have lived, live and will live together with our fellow human beings. It talks about habits, beliefs, fears and hopes, it reminds us what the past was like and gives us hints on how to build a better future. To me, with languages and music, Geology and Literature are the main keys to the understanding of the complexity of our planet and of the creatures inhabiting it. And hopefully together they will be the key to save the future of us all.
